Talking with John Hefner - The Road to Nowhere

During the build-up to the 2011 IndyFringe Festival, IndyFringeTalk interviewed some of the key performers to get some insight into their stories, their audience and the Fringe itself. Here is what happened when we sat down with The Road to Nowhere's John Hefner. 

If you could present your show to just one person, who would it be and why?

Probably Kevin McDonald from "The Kids in the Hall." I think he'd get it.

My Show Is...  aw nuts, ran out of words. 

What is the best way for theater-goers to stay informed about your latest productions?

My official website of officiality, www.johnhefner.com! Short of that, ambush me in the steet. I'm the guy in the bowler derby.

How does fringe theater benefit you as a theater artist/performer?

It fulfills my standard monthly ego inflation while providing money for gas and food. For an artist, that's win-win!

What is the funniest line in your show?

Something that's not at all funny out of context. No, really. Here: "Did you find Dad? There he is." Hey, I warned you!
 

Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?

Hopefully sleeping, because that ain't happening now. Oh, the joys of Fringing while caring for a newborn infant!

Because it's one of the very best Fringes I've attended. The quality of shows are not only top-notch, but the audiences are the warmest, most receptive, most gosh-darn FUN crowds in the world.
