Talking with Nick Abeel - Return of the Great Nickolini

During the build-up to the 2011 IndyFringe Festival, IndyFringeTalk interviewed some of the key performers to get some insight into their stories, their audience and the Fringe itself. Here is what happened when we sat down with The Return of the Great Nickolini's Nick Abeel.


If you could present your show to just one person, who would it be and why?
I would present it to my 12 year old self. Is that narcissistic? Haha.

Quirky, nostalgic, genuine.

How does fringe theater benefit you as a theater artist/performer?
I've always been a performer but Fringe is a great opportunity for me to showcase my writing. There's nothing scarier and more exhilarating than being onstage alone for an hour with my own material!

What is the funniest line in your show?
WWTGND? (What would the Great Nickolini Do?)

Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?
Fighting the good fight in New York theatre. Acting, Directing, Writing, Producing.

Why IndyFringe?
Indy is my hometown and I love coming back here to perform. But really it's just a good excuse to see my family!
