Talking with Claire Wilcher - 'School House Wrong'

During the build-up to the 2011 IndyFringe Festival, IndyFringeTalk interviewed some of the key performers to get insight into their stories, their audience and the Fringe itself. Here is what happened when we sat down with School House Wrong's Claire Wilcher.

If you could present your show to just one person, who would it be and why?
Cloris Leachman.  She hosted the VHS release of the Schoolhouse Rock videos, yet she's still freakin' hip as hell and is a female comedy icon.  Or maybe Batman; he'd like it too.

List 3 words that truly sum up your show.
F*ck your nostalgia.

How does fringe theater benefit you as a theater artist/performer?

Fringe will draw a completely different kind of audience for us.  Since Schoolhouse Wrong! is a 100% new endeavor for our group, the first people to see it will be a fresh crowd.

What is the funniest line in your show?
Fruit Roll-ups count as fruit on the Food-allelogram.

Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?

We'd like to say touring nationally.  But uh...prolly be here, with more inflated egos.

Why IndyFringe?
We're defending our home turf.  We're proud Indy residents who were/are the first group on the local sketch scene.  We have the best time together.  Why not share it with the artsy-fartsy masses?

  3. "Three Dollar Bill" (3DB,which I think sounds cooler) delivers their best show yet. This talented ,laugh out loud. OMFG I can't believe-they-just-said that(but it really does make sense)group of performers has been playing to well deserved standing ovations.
Best of all you can buy the soundtrack album outside for the amazingly ridiculous price of $5. Buy multiple copies so you can later sell them on E-Bay for crazy prices when they go on national tour.
